The1.4 D4D engine is the same one that is in the Yaris and has been proven to be pretty bullet-proof so far. (Obviously it's more fun in the Yaris tho' :P :D) Diesels are good first cars to have as they are much more forgiving and harder to stall than petrols. The Toyota D4D engines are very underrated IMHO; They don't look the best
