Mazda is developing a PHEV (probably based on Toyota tech) as well as a 48-volt hybrid system with the inline-6. Having to do this a second time, the original 6 hour process (involving the loss of 2 sockets and having to go buy some new ones to remove the IM and get them back) was shortened to 2 hours in total. I found that the thing that helped MOST was buying the deep socket and wrench set.
