The Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8 USM L IS is the best fast standard zoom lenses that we tested to date. However, this doesn't mean that it's flawless - standard zoom lenses never are. In terms of resolution, the broader center zone is superbly sharp at all relevant aperture settings. The border quality is also on a very high level.
2 days ago · I have a brand new C70 with 1.0.8.1 (latest) firmware. When I tried to enable "Lens Optical IS" in the menu, the option is greyed out and the message "This function is not compatible with the current lens". This is when I attach any of my IS capable Canon Lenses with the latest firmware. EF 24-105 F4 with the 0.71x mount adaptor.

The sharpness tests for this review were carried out using a real-world subject rather than a test chart. The Canon RF 24-70mm F2.8L IS USM lens was attached to a Canon EOS RP body, which in turn was mounted on a sturdy tripod. Self-timer mode was activated. Slight tonal changes are due to slight changes in natural light during the session.
